About Us

The Lino Liviabella Quartet was born from the idea of the grandson Hans Liviabella to shed light once again on the chamber works of this important Italian composer who was active in the first half of the 1900s. An in-depth study of the manuscripts of his string quartets, including unpublished ones, led to the creation of a recording project.

The Lino Liviabella Quartet, in fact, will record this year the complete works for string quartet, which will be presented by the end of 2025.

The quartet is formed by internationally renowned soloists based in Lugano, Switzerland.

Hans Liviabella – violin Antonio Stradivari “de Giardini - Earl of Aylesford”, 1683 and Gioffredo Cappa, 1702

Ekaterina Valiulina – violin Nicola Bergonzi, 1793

Eleonora De Poi – viola Fabio Piagentini “Gasparo da Salò”, 2022

Vanessa Hunt Russell – cello Jean Baptiste Vuillaume ca. 1840
